Unfortunately my mood isn't very good now, my leg hurts, but somehow I still feel like being a sadist has some ability to cure my discomfort and to commemorate the "50th post", I shall make a Mystery of the Unknown Sadist Edition Special Post with a task for you:

Mystery Of The Unknown: Eye On Malacca

There is actually no mystery, no suspense but just a few pictures of the Eye On Malaysia taken from Malacca city with a night setting. There seems to be very few pictures of the Eye in Malacca since it was only shifted in November and I would like to show some of the snapshots I took during my trip.

<This is the Eye on Malaysia in Malacca, a spectacular view captured with only a 2.0 megapixel camera phone.

This is another > closer view of the Eye but was taken a little later, so the background is darker and creates a luminating Eye feel with a slight light distortion from the moonlight on the top left-hand corner.

                                                                                               

Of course Malacca is not just about the Eye, there are also many delicacies not found in any other parts of Malaysia (even if there are, nothing is as good as the original).

Can you see the number of people waiting to enter the shop? You must be thinking "what are they waiting for?". If you look closely at the picture, there are gas tanks under every table. There are only two unrelated S-words to describe this meal, Soup & Stick.

I know Malaccans will be shouting out the answer by now, for non-malaccans, (sound of drums) I present to you, Satay Celup.

This dish is certainly very interesting and entertaining because it has a fusion of food cultures, the Malay Satay and Malaysian Chinese Lok-lok. The boiling hot water in lok-lok is replaced by delicious satay nut sauce which adds on to the taste of anything dunked into the pot. I'm not sure whether every shop has the same ingredients but Restoran Capitol in Malacca uses not only nuts but chicken serunding(meat floss) for their soup.

Like every lok-lok and satay shop, food are arranged with sticks so that they are convenient for serving.

This post is not about food or the Eye of Malaysia, it is about my visit to Malacca, but as a food lover, I tend get too excited...

Mystery Of The Unknown: Octo-meal

Just a few weeks ago, I had a trip to Penang as part of my post-trauma relieve treatment. It may sound very astonishing but it is just a holiday. The journey to Penang was not very long, but it was fun to drive there while speeding the car to a cruising speed of 110km/h. That surely isn't the important part of the journey, the main attraction was what I would call as the "Octo-meal" from a famous Restoran NT Cheang Kee in Nibong Tebal, Penang. WOW...

For starters, the Octo-meal is simple meal served with a dish which consist only with octopus.

Does it look tasty to you? This dish is surprisingly delicious if u would ask me. Of course this octo-meal must be endeavoured with chili sauce sprinkled with grounded nuts. Oh! Don't worry! It isn't moving. Spectacular...

Other than octopus, this restaurant is most famous for their seafood porridge, namely crab and fish porridge. And honestly speaking, this porridge is the second best porridge I have enjoyed in my life (the best is my mom's).Above is the yummy-licious crab porridge... See those white freshy crab meat above the tasty soup!  That will prove the amount of delicious ingredients in it And this is the fish porridge. For those who do not like spring onion (like me), don't bother about it because the soup is so tasty you won't even notice it

As a KL-ian, I also got to express my love for Pork (no offence to Muslims) by indulging myself in the simplest Pork dish ever, Eu Chai Shio Bak (Hokkien for fried vegetables with barbecue pork).Are you feeling hungry now? Mystery Of The Unknown: The Sandwich Between Christmas And New Year

The Christmas day is regarded as one of the most sacred day to the 2.1 billion Christians in the world. But have you ever wondered whether Christmas has any meaning now with the various types of fogs clouding with commercial and political influences that comes in Christmas Sales, Guess The Gift In Santa’s Bag and many more. I cannot help but to consider this day the birthday of Jesus Christ or just a holiday splash that happens to be just a week from the New Year. I am not going to argue about the significant of the day since I am not a Christian but I just want to highlight the misuse of happy occasions.

For many Christians and also non-Christians, Christmas reminds everyone of the aroma of turkeys, chocolates and definitely the Ho-ho voice of Santa Claus. But Santa Claus is normally the main attraction especially to the children who hopes for gifts under their Christmas Tree. I have always queried about the story of Santa Claus and his reindeers from the North Pole. Various sources have stated that Santa Claus is actually St. Nicholas of Myra, a saint from Turkey, not the North Pole. The great man told in the story books and films was just a man who had a reputation for secret gift-giving, not a long white bearded fat man who always wears a red outfit with white trimmings.

Like other children, I have been thought since young that there is this man who rewards me with all my desires as long I behave well. But these lies told by majority of the Christian parents in the world are pure examples of the breaking of the eighth commandment, “Thou shall not bear false witness”. Although this act is clearly a sin, it seems this act has turned into a norm that even honorable Christian pastors commit. Do they have doubt in their beliefs or just a common mistake that is so normal that it becomes correct? Nobody knows.

New year is welcomes with the New Year’s Day on the first of January and this New Year is still the same as all the years since the creation of the Gregorian calendar and also the followers of the Eastern Orthodox churches using the Julian Calendar. Which ever calendar does not matter because the significant of the day did not change. People try their best to correct their mistake before that day to turn over a new leaf. This ‘ritual’ has been very popular and productive because many improvements have been made to make life easier to live.

For now, we are caught between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day that makes it a double prosperity for this week and I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Mystery Of The Unknown: The Journey To Perfection

Recently, I have faced many obstacles in life. This is partly because of my commitments to too many subjects in school and my personal issues. As a science student in a competative secondary school, I have to face ten subjects that may not be my favourite but it is still acceptable to me. I also have an additional subject that I have been learning as a n extra-curricular subject which is Accounting Principals. Furthermore, I have another subject that even lesser students study, Piano.

Perfection to me was not much of a meaningful word before as it is now. Compared to ather Accounting and Art students, we science students have so much more stress because there are three genres of science to be studied in detail compared to the general science studied by the two other groups. As an exception to the rest of the science students, I am also taking one of the subjects taken by Accounting students. This abnormal combination forces me to remember even more principals in addition to the difficult scientific principals. Fortunatesly my music is just a practical piano examination. At a Grade 7 standard, passing the test is not as easy as just playing piano with a finger. There are many other important aspects that require my deepest concern. All this includes rapid notes reading, coordinationof hands and legs, hardness of touch and feeling the flow of the music. These points may sound like a simple skill as a music student for more than ten years but I can only say that only a music student will know the difficulty. Every small mistake, forexample, a flat forgotten in the song, slower paddling or even an accidental loud ofr soft note can cause the sound to be distorted and make me fail my examination.

The stress for me in the next few months will be very heavy to bare. My piano examination will be on in a month time and the most important examination in my life, the SPM or Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia will be on in 113 days which happens to be my birthday. The heavy bag of rocks I have been carrying has been continuously increasing in weight as time passes. I am not sure how long I can face my fears on the journey to perfection. I have been having happydreams that show my exceptionally good results as well as nightmares where I do not get any good results and getting scoldings from my parents who hope for more.

According to the Oxford Dictionary, Perfection means faultless. But to me, Perfection is an unreachable target that many people try their best to reach. As my footsteps leave traces of my determination, I am sure that that step took me another step towards my quest investigating on the MYSTERY OF THE UNKNOWN.

Mystery Of The Unknown: Not Another Theory By Me

Do you have a book called the Bible at home?
Yes/ No


If yes, then please flip to the Acts of the Apostles 17:30-31 in the new testament. There is a long statement

'In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead.'

that tells readers that God has set a day that we can call Judgement Day or Last Judgement.

Judgement day, like the one portrayed in the Terminator Series, is the end of everything we once know, everything that ever exist (not in the movie where there are still people on Earth). It is much like the term we commonly use on the computer 'DELETE ALL' or 'CLEAR'. But when is it? Will it happen? Are the predictions various religous groups accurate?

Those questions cannot be answered until it really happens. But I know that to those who believe in this theory of believing and going to Heaven, I think that day must be the long awaited day. But the I have thought in my heart for a long time to simulate a full scale distruction of everything, Earth, other planets, life and most importantly, us. It is almost like billions of times worst than a detonation of an atomic weapon in Kuala Lumpur.

As a human being, I have been living for over sixteen years. Throughout my life, I have been creating things and destroying things conciously or unconciously. But I normally try my best to treasure my creations for example my projects in school, a pot of coffee or even a very difficult jigsaw puzzle. In only sixteen years, I realise the importants of preserving my possessions because I have worked hard to get, create or look for it. Even if you ask me to take a hundred Ringgit note and throw it into the fire would be hard for me, imagine destroying everything I have. If I ask you the same question, would you do it?

This basic phycology, treasuring what we have is so simple even a one year old would know, do not tell me God does not know. According to the first few pages of the Bible, Genesis stated that God created the Heavens and Earth with humans, plants and animals. Since Judgement day is the day where all of Earth is going to be reduced to nothing, it is very much like throwing a hundred Ringgit note into the fire. If a true God exist, He would not be so foolish to do what a one year old toddler would not. So this theory should not be true.

Now can you flip to Exodus 35:2, you should find this phrase

'For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death.'

Did you read it correctly, the last word is indeed 'DEATH'. Sabbath, or is what most of us know as Saturday is the day when God finish creating the world and 'rested from all his labour'. Sabbath is considered a very holy day for many Christians or any other religion that follows the Bible. But let me ask you again, DID YOU READ THE PHRASE ABOVE CAREFULLY?

Have you been to a shopping centre during the weekends? I am very sure many have enjoyed their time buying groceries in the weekends, But did you notice that all the shops and restaurants are open on Saturdays or Sabbath? Shops like DKNY, Calvin Klein and Kentucky Fried Chicken are all open to get more customers who are busy during the weekdays but free during the weekends to shop and eat at their shops. If you see it that way, there is no big deal actually, but if you remember the phrase from Exodus 35:2, you would think twice.

The waiters, promoters, managers and cashers are all working on a very holy day. Why are they still alive? Did the phrase 'Whoever does any work on it must be put to death' mean anything in the Bible? You would probably know what I mean by now.

But let me make it simple, if you work on the Sabbath, you will die according to the Bible. If that is true, more than ten million of the world's people will be killed just for working on a regular Saturday. But this is not true, the population of the World did not have a significant change, people are still working on the Saturdays and this theory is definitely 'Busted'.

I hope you can understand what I meant in these two theories. I did not mean to insult any religion or teachings but I am just voicing out my opinion about theories according to facts that I think you would be able to find at home or in libraries. This just may be another step towards my quest investigating on the MYSTERY OF THE UNKNOWN.

Mystery Of The Unknown: To See The Light Of Hope

I came back from school with my hopes to take a deep breath, eat a wholesome lunch, practice my piano and start my half work, half entertainment activity on the computer. I had almost ten minutes of privacy reading the daily news when I hear an interrupting sound. It was my mother's car! I was very worried that I may not be able to undergo my plans as expected. But I was lucky because she was just stopping by for lunch and went back to her office immediately. I ate my lunch like a king on my throne while reading the newspaper without worries about time or accidents.

But when I was about the step to start playing my piano, the fan above me started to slow down. Then I was thinking to myself whether the circuit breaker of my house had problems. I tried opening the power box just a distant away, but there seemed to be no problem with it. Then I knew that there is going to be a power failure. On a burning hot Friday afternoon, living in a house without any air circulation is a killer. The temperature was about 33 °C, but it feels like a marinated chicken inserted into a wok with boiling hot water. I felt a sudden breeze blowing hot air and thought to myself that I am going to continue playing the piano with hopes that the electricity comes back on soon.

I had fun trying to figure out the keys of my favorite Linkin Park songs Numb, What I've Done and In The End on the piano with the help of the only electrical device working besides the clock, my handphone. I used my phones MP3 capability to play those songs and match them with the piano keys to recreate the atmosphere I love in the songs. The songs did indeed divert my attention away from the heat and made me enjoy the music while sweating.

I played the piano for almost two hours when I ran out of nice songs to play. I made my decision to start doing some reading work. I was not interested in reading about school stuff. I opened my book cabinet and took my long forgotten book, The DaVinci Code and continued reading from the place I had stop reading for almost a year ago. Although the book is good, I did not find it interesting because I have watched the movie three times and got the summary from my mother who read the book till the last page last year. She was so happy with Dan Brown, the author of The DaVinci Code that she wanted to buy the three other books in his collection. I took out the next book, Dan Brown's Angels and Demons that I bought for her as her birthday present. She also told me a very short introduction of the story and I was very curious to what happens after where she stopped.

Reading has not been part of my life. Many books that I have read in my life are left at a cliffhanger. I love reading stories till the climax and letting people tell me what happens next but not reading the next few pages left. If you do not know, Malaysian Education Department has produced several books for English and Bahasa Malaysia literature components for students but I have only read one book from the start till the end. For English, there are The Phantom of The Opera, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and The Pearl but I have only read The Phantom of The Opera till the end. I would not want to list down all the Bahasa Malaysia books because I have not finish any of them. That is just my point of reading, for something to excite my imagination to figure out the ending and not relying on the written conclusion of the story.

It has been months since I had a touch on my bicycle that I once loved to ride. My father came back from work early on this unfortunate Friday. He tried to open the automatic gate of my house with a remote control but failed because that was no electrical supply. This made him irritated and as soon as he parked his car, he went to the security guard post protecting my housing area to enquire. On the other hand, I was trilled feeling the gentle breeze blowing towards me when I took my first step out of my house after being roasted in this enormous oven. I then decided to take my bicycle out for a spin around the half occupied residential area. The wind was very strong blowing towards me as I rode my bicycle against the stream of cool breeze.

The situation was very interesting because when car reached their house and try to open their automatic gate, it will just ignore the order and that will make the owner of the house really angry after having a busy day working in the office. Many old and young people were carrying stools out of their houses to get out of their overheated furnace and enjoy the natural winds. Suddenly, a large BMW 5 series turns slowly into his house very confidently without knowing that there was a power failure. When the owner press on the automatic gate remote control, the gate swings open for him to drive straight in. I was overjoyed knowing that the electricity has return to normal. I rushed back to my house and the first thing I did was to try switching on my fan. Out of my surprise, it did not move at all. I try switching on my light instead but it still did not light up. That broke my hopes for getting a cool down and getting a nice bottle of cold water from the refrigerator.

My father came back from the security guard post and told me that the whole residential area that includes many blocks of apartments, two rows of shop lots and my housing area is having a power failure. When I told him about the gate opening for one of my neighbors, he said that they have a generator at home. I was very bored without anything to do. My father took my bicycle out for a ride and so I took a small stool out to my garden to have a sit while playing a game on my handphone.

Time flies faster than a speeding bullet, my mother finally came home from work and we made our decision to eat in a nearby shop before I go for my Additional Mathematics tuition. It was nice feeling the air circulate around my body when I entered the restaurant because my body was just about to get used to the blazing sun radiating the heat burning my epidermis away. I enjoyed my meal very much and proceeded to my tuition center. The session was also fun having to meet my friends, enjoying comfort in an air-conditioned room. After tuition, my parents even fetched me to go for a late night shopping at Endah Parade's Carefour because there was still no electrical supply to my house.

Before returning to my house, I had high hopes again that the electrical supply would be back on. But upon arrival, I witness a dark road leading to my housing area without a sign of light. I could barely see the street lamps and the houses. Every house had candles lighted in their dining tables. If you do not know there is no electrical supply, you will think it is Valentines Day because people are having very romantic atmosphere sitting round the table contemplating on the happy times they had together. My family unloaded the goods from the car and did the same with something extra we bought from Carefour, durian and mango juice. We enjoyed the food very much knowing that we may have to suffer the whole night without air-conditioning and more mosquitoes.

As I was walking up to my room to sleep, I was too used to switching on my light that I did not realize that there was a power failure. When I press the switch, the light turned on. I was surprised seeing the light of hope brightening the light in my heart. That moment was the happiest time I have not had for a long time. But now the worries was not on whether I have to sleep in a mosquito buffet but whether this electrical supply will last long enough for me to have a comfortable sleep. Fortunately, after a minute seeing the light of hope shinning at me, I continued to change to my pajamas to sleep.

Although power failure is quite a normal thing to happen in every part of the world, to see the light of hope shinning at me really made me feel a sense of satisfaction in my life. The light may just be any light from any source but as long it brings a meaning in life, that light is a light of hope. This light itself takes me another step towards my quest investigating on the MYSTERY OF THE UNKNOWN.

Mystery Of The Unknown: Time Is A Square Thing

From this date, 31st of May, 2007, the new series of posts 'Mystery Of The Unknown' will be the new category in my blog. I will have a totally new genre and different happenings in my life over a longer time. The 'Entry To Hell' has not been a nice experience for me as a new kid in the block in terms of posting blogs.

I will be starting this series with a short writing written by me about some happenings that occured to me just yesterday, 30th of May, 2007. Lets see whether you understand it or not.


Kuala Lumpur is a large city
Teens get to loiter around shopping centers
Adults have to work their heads of all day
A bunch of teens got themselves on the rail
On their way to the large city that welcomes them.


Light Rail Transit is a great stucture
Many people travel around with it
The old, young, working and students
The bunch of teens are amongst those people
Starting their journey from home to the Land of Opportunity

Money is a means of exchange for goods
But making them are not easy especially for adults
It is the responsibility of the youngs to treasure them
The bunch of teens saved them by only taking a train
Having a short walk from the station to their destination


Berjaya Time Square is a huge stucture in the heart of the city
Just by crossing a few roads, the bunch of teens made their way there
Being early, the shops in the buildings have not opened
The teens had a slow and steady walk across the enormous corridors
Waiting for the golden screen to open their shuttles

Movies are entertainment enjoyed by everyone
There were two new blockbuster movies they were about to watch
But shows does not start that early in the morning
Bowling has become a passing time then
We had strikes, spares and misses with enthusiasm


Spider-man has been a hero to everyone
Three movies has been made for this amazing superhero
They were about to watch the newest third installment of this hero
It was a rush from bowling to this next agenda
There was no time to rest between programmes

Lunch is a meal eaten in middle of the day
The movie was long and there was not much time to fill their stomach
The next movie was about to show in less than thirty minutes
Many of them still insisted in eating in the crowded food stalls
A small group went to a convenient store for a very light meal


Jack Sparrow is a dedicated captain
He is the main character in the next movie they were about to watch
The small group entered the cinema again early
The rest were still in time for the starting of the movie
And everyone enjoyed the show

Good and bad things will always come to an end
It only matters whether it ends fast or slow
The day seemed like a happy day for the bunch of teenagers
But every sunrise ends with a sunset
The days journey had just came to an end

Do you understand? My writting may not be very good, it may even be a little funny for a teen like me to write a nine part writting about a journey of twelve teenagers enjoying their day in Berjaya Time Square watching two movies and bowling. Although it may be a rush, everyone enjoyed it and cannot wait for the next journey to start.

This should be my last journeys with my friends to a movie for now until November this year, but I am very excited waiting for the next journey that may start again at the end of the year. Anyway, there is still a long time more for me to discover the Mystery Of The Unknown.
