Musclés Dé Dansé: Victor or Loser

Everything has ended in college, it is time to tell who is the victor and the loser.
I can't really say I'm a victor but at least I did't lose at all.
South Australian Matriculation was a tough process.
And the product of the process comes out today.

17 December Wow!!! It is today...
SACE results finally out.
Adrenalin pumps high, like a boost of nitrous
TER 91.60 man...!!! Wow...
power up, 2 fast 2 furious
no drifting off the path, it's a death race...

Musclés Dé Dansé: Fin de Jour

Just like every important day, there is always an end.

Just like every movie, there is always a credit.

Just like every song, there is always a concluding line.

Well, this is the end of the sentence...

The end of the long dance

The Musclés Dé Dansé

Sorry Guys...!!!

I know I missed prom night

I missed the last precious moments with the lovely S2

But I think I have enough memories to last a life time

Once again, the time of my life!!!

Musclés Dé Dansé: Triumph in Trial

It is over, the Trial examination is past tense to me, yet I feel the sense of fear and misery...

From nightmares to sweetdreams, nothing is as real as the hours in the examination hall. I can still feel the tense atmosphere which comes with shivering temperatures hugging my skin. My pen's wobble would signify my boiling brain and gushing bloodflow while my swollened eyes would signify the sore of boredem from books. Is there a saviour when I need it?

Sometimes difficult times can be stopped by a change in pace. A short break in the critical times could make ends meet... somehow. It is like a detour but this longer route may take you to the destination faster than expected. I'm not sure whether it works with everyone but it works for me. It is as simple as taking a stroll from the examination hall, visit the washroom, or even closing both eyes.

Although this harsh period only lasted five days, I have felt the love from the people around me notably my parents and classmates. I cannot predict the events of the coming Final examination but I could only hope that the love can act as motivation, as fuel for me to strive on.

I have been pondering with questions of my life, 'Why am I still living?' 'What is the meaning of my life?' and I thought to myself again, 'Why am I still asking these foolish questions?'. Life is meaningful not because of any supernatural being, not because of the uncertain future, not because of the 'past tense' but the people around me. The love and care, the knowledge, the luxury they intend to share that makes my life worth living.

Thank You Everyone...!!! for all you have done for me

Musclés Dé Dansé: WCW! you are my idol!!!

This post is dedicated to the best columnist I know, Mr Wong Chun Wai. Jis newest article entitled 'Nation Built on Toil of all races' was posted in the September 7th issue of The Star newspaper and has made me realise the condition of my country today. I salute him for his great contents and his courage to pursue the true meaning of racial harmory.

Nation Built on Toil of all races
ON THE BEAT
By WONG CHUN WAI

The contribution of each race must be recognised and appreciated.

IT’S hardly convincing. More than 10 days after the controversy over Datuk Ahmad Ismail’s racist remarks, the Bukit Bendera Umno chief has finally appeared to give his side of the story.

He has not only refused to apologise but has remained defiant and has instead demanded an apology from Sin Chew Daily, which reported his remark, attacking the newspaper for “manipulating” his speech on Aug 23.

Ahmad has admitted that he made the remark that the Chinese were squatters in the country but within the pre-Merdeka context.

The newspaper, he charged, had instead turned the remark into a racial and sensitive issue.

The Penang politician’s reply smacks of arrogance. If the newspaper had indeed misreported his remark, then he should have demanded a correction and an apology to be made immediately.

The question is: Why did he do a disappearing act?

Even Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said he could not reach him, like so many other reporters who were seeking his reply.

In short, he was given a chance to make a rebuttal but he did not use it. Instead, he decided to take his time to come up with a defence and allowed the issue to drag on. In the process, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had to apologise on his behalf.

Sorry issue

Najib has been magnanimous in making the apology on Ahmad’s and Umno’s behalf, but his act is appreciated by his fellow Barisan Nasional component leaders. The apology was supported by Pak Lah the next day, reflecting their maturity and wish to end the issue.

But the apology by the two leaders was unnecessary, as the matter involves a small-time politician and it should just be confined to that level.

A simple apology from him would have sufficed and would have prevented the widening of the issue.

As the saying goes, “To err is human, to forgive, divine.”

It takes a man to apologise and, certainly, in the eyes of many politicians now, Ahmad is hardly one. Perception is everything in politics but we are sure he would not want to be remembered as a racist, even if he says he is not one.

Assuming that his remark was wrongly reported, his reply and mannerism, as seen on television, would not earn him much forgiveness. In fact, it was a case of poor public relations.

He has said that he was away in Bangkok attending a sepak takraw tournament, but surely he could have answered all the allegations from there. Surely he doesn’t need a pigeon to send his statement.

Yes, the Chinese were immigrants but so were most other Malaysians, including many Umno leaders and former prime ministers whose ancestry can be traced to India, Pakistan, Yemen, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand, China and even Turkey.

A certain former mentri besar is a second-generation Malaysian: his parents came from Indonesia, but he made it to be the leader of a state. That’s good because Malaysia is a land of opportunity.

Many Umno politicians, especially from Penang, have ancestors from India but there is no reason to question that. They are surely not pendatang and it shouldn’t be an issue at all.

If we have to dwell on immigration, we should be celebrating it, not making it a reminder for patronage. Malaysia is a land of diversity, and that’s an asset.

As we celebrate the country’s 51st anniversary, let us remind the likes of Ahmad Ismail that this country is built on the blood, sweat and tears of all communities, not just one race.

Thanks to the political maturity, wisdom and skills of the Malays, the country has remained stable and peaceful. It was, and still is, the Malays who protected this country as soldiers and policemen. As administrators, they have done a superb job.

The Chinese contribution through the tin mining industry built the country’s economy and their entrepreneurial skills strengthened the many financial institutions.

The Indians, especially Tamils, worked in the rubber estates, a main pillar of Malaysia’s economy.

Correct perspective

Without each of these components, Malaysia would have been nothing, and the contribution of each race must be recognised and appreciated.

And remember also that there would have been no Malaysia without Sabah and Sarawak. They did not join Malaysia; they helped to make up Malaysia. Never forget, so we can get our history facts correct.

If we wish to talk about history, then this would perhaps put the perspective right in a more rational and mature manner.

A decade or two from now, our politicians would need to win the votes of Malaysians with ancestry from Myanmar, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Cambodia, as this would be the eventual price for bringing in foreign workers.

It’s very much like the American politicians having to count on the votes of the Hispanic and Latino voters.

Whatever our colour, language and religion, we are the same. Don’t let the politicians tell us otherwise as there are only two kinds of people – the good and the bad.

Musclés Dé Dansé: La douleur dans l'âne

This title is kinda rude, so I wouldn't want to translate it too much. Just know that it starts with 'Pain in the .....'. I am really stressing up these days. Trials is around the corner, 3 common tests have just passed but results are not satisfactory. Allthough there are no test at the moment, I still can feel the douleur dans l'âne.

My parents seriously want me to enter a recognised university and after lots of enquiries, I found out that there are many requirements that I have not met (another douleur dans l'âne). English must be good to enter universities, and that is one of my problems. Why is IELTS needed? Why didn't I find out earlier? Now it is almost the end of August, just a few more weeks and I will be sitting for my trials. Fortunately I got a place in the next earliest test date that doesn't clash with any important examinations.

Well, that is not end yet. Just a week after the IELTS, there will be Direct Investigation for Maths and Spec Maths (Double Trouble). Spec Math teacher Ms Lee even said that we were not allowed to bring in any formula sheets, that means I have to rely on my horrible memory... I think I have finally got the taste of college life at this point that I can only use 3 words to describe, douleur dans l'âne

Musclés Dé Dansé: Getting back at Myself

Why does everything I want to show turn out sour
Why does everyone turn out better
Why does everything I want to be becomes lower
Why does everyone turn away

How can I learn to savor vast knowledge
How can my knife turn sharp
How can I share my deep feelings with others
How can my inner words cut

Who will tell me my deepest thoughts
Who may bleach my blood
Who will help me get back at myself
Who may brighten the next day

When can I get a reflection of myself
When can I witness my pain
When can I make life simple for myself
When can I express my sane

What is in this world I live in
What are they laughing at
What is my problem with life
What are tears in winter

Where have my heart loiter
Where should I lose my humility
Where have success gone
Where should I correct my wrongdoings

HELP ME...!!! I am in my darkest time in life so far. Olympic has started, pumping heart has started, but happiness has ended, leaving behind the debris, the remains of ME

Musclés Dé Dansé: la transformation dans l'université

Recently, I felt myself transforming in college tremendously in terms of emotion, maturity and behaviour. I'm not implying that it is a good transformation, in fact it is the exact opposite.

This morning, I read a 'joke' on the newspaper that made me think about my change in college. Let me translate it for you.

TEST TO IDENTIFY SENIORITY OF STUDENTS IN COLLEGE
Student 1: New guy
Student 2: In college for 3 months
Student 3: In college for 6 months
Student 4: Last month in college

1. Canteen test: fly is placed into bowls of noodles and is given to these 4 students
student 1: OMG!!! there is a fly in my food, I better not complain or they will think I'm fussy
student 2: I can't take it, I must complain this time...
student 3: (take fly out and continue eating)
student 4: (eat noodle and fly together)

2. Examination notice test: announcement is made to tell these 4 students about a coming exam
student 1: [2 weeks before exam] I should start studying for this exam
student 2: [1 week before exam] So fast another exam, gotta get better results than the last one
student 3: [night before exam] Nevermine, I still can burn midnight oil for tomorrow's exam
student 4: [1 day after exam] What??? I missed the exam?

3. Sunday night test: ask these 4 students about their feelings
student 1: Gotta sleep early, don't bug me anymore...zzz
student 2: Is this a survey? nice! I can't wait to meet my classmates tomorrow...zzz
student 3: Very simple one word answer, boring...zzz
student 4: Huhhh...zzz

4. Attire test: ask these 4 students to make a style analysis
student 1: No more uniform...yay!!!
student 2: College is like a runway, students are like models cum designers
student 3: Didn't really observe, all the same boring stuff nowadays
student 4: Girls wear less and less cloth, guys wear pants that either get longer or shorter

Musclés Dé Dansé: Over My Head

Life is not as it was when I left it
Every second in my life not lit
Where none of my expectations meet
Over my head, I'm off my beat

Life has lost it's essence in me
Like a puff dripping off it's zest
Like a guitar losing it's strings
Over my head, I'm off my feet

I'm swimming in my own tears of remorse
Weeping my eyes out of my grieving face
Losing my breath in a world I once know
Over my head, I'm off my seat

Char black hair on my head turn white
Dark red blood gushing out in grey
Like blue waves storming the beach so green
Over my head, I'm off my fleet

Kill them all my young apprentice
Kill those men who lost their bliss
Kill these damned to regain peace
Over my head, I'm off the heat

When life hit the bottom end
Ain't gonna float like submarines
Cos' sea gets deep as tears pour down
Over my head, I'm off to rid

Musclés Dé Dansé: La Force Pour Habiter Parte II

"But who you are, the part of you that's so full of life... we all have that feeling, that fire... but we usually never get a chance to use it. And then it just goes away. But you can. You've got this opportunity, so do it. Why not? I mean, this is who you are. This is who you'll always be. And you don't move aside for nobody until you're ready to move. And it doesn't matter how this looks to other people. All that matters is how it looks to you. And if this is something that you wanna do... and this is something that you gotta do, then you do it... Fighters fight!!!"

Musclés Dé Dansé: Effort D'université Parte II

I shall continue from parte I with the updates of pass few months. The journey continues...

Things haven't change much through time
English makes me think 'bout crime
Salmon Steak doesn't serve lime
Hey, I'm not a mime

Used to have lunch at market
Now eat nasi in packet
Kena 'za dou' cos' no bracket
See, I ain't no jacket

The van I told you change to bus
Big and heavy still can pass
Don't have anymore disgust
Great, I'm almost last

Class and I are now friends
Do this do that hand in hands
Although still have small small clans
Go, ladies and gents

Although exam now no fails
I'm still always not on rails
Getting very near to tails
Sleep, it's a bed of nails

Haiyo so many common test
August busier than the rest
Still can't manage all my mess
Help, really very stress

Time fly faster than superman
Mind spin faster than a fan
Test test until dunno when
So, cannot still must say can

Faster come lah November
Handphone filled with test calendar
Sometimes want to surrender
Haiz.., there's nothing better

If you compare this post with parte I, you would notice the obvious change in character and environment. Everyday in college is an exciting adventure that gives me a slight sensation of fear of the unknown future.

Musclés Dé Dansé: La Force Pour Habiter

The phrase 'La Force Pour Habiter' means 'the strength to live' in English.

"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place... and I don´t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently, if you let it. You, me or nobody, is gonna hit as hard as life. But ain't about how hard you hit... It's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward... how much you can take, and keep moving forward. That´s how winning is done. Now, if you know what you worth, go out and get what you worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits. And not pointing fingers saying 'You ain´t what you wanna be because of him or her or anybody.' Cowards do that and that ain´t you! You´re better than that!"
Adapted from Sylvester Stallone's 2007 movie, Rocky Balboa

Musclés Dé Dansé: Quand la mort vous appelle

Quad la mort vous appelle is french for 'When Death Calls YOU'!!! Be cool after a long day of stress.

This is a true story of a young college girl who past away last year, at Shah Alam. Her name is Priya. She was hit by a lorry while going home. I don’t want to mention the name of the college.

She had a boy friend named Shankar. He stays in Johor. Both of them are true lovers. They are always on the phone to each other. You can never see her without her handphone, which Shankar bought for her. She spends 3/4 of the day talking with Shankar. Priya’s family knows about their relationship. Shankar is very close with Priya’s family. (Can you imagine their love?) Before she passed away she always told her friends, as well as her parents, “If I pass away please cremate me with my handphone”…

After her death, people couldn’t carry her coffin. I was there. A lot of them tried to do so but still could not carry it. Everybody, including me, had tried to carry her coffin, the result was still the same- it could not be carried. Eventually, they called their neighbor, a “bomoh” from Thailand (Pak Darin), who is a friend of Priya’s father. He sat down near the coffin and started speaking to himself slowly. After a few minutes, he said..

“This girl misses something here”. Then her friends told Pak Darin about her wish to cremate her with her phone. He then opened the coffin and placed her phone and SIM card inside the casket. After that, they tried to carry the coffin. It could now be moved and they carried it into the van easily. All of us were shocked. Priya’s parents didn’t inform Shankar that Priya had passed away. After 2 weeks Shankar called Priya’s mom. Shankar: “Atte, I’m coming home today, please cook something nice for me. Don’t tell Priya that I’m coming home today. I wanna surprise her.” Priya’s mother replied: “You come home first, I want to tell something very important to you.” After he came to Shah Alam, they told him the truth about Priya. Shankar thinks that they were playing the fool. He was laughing and said “Don’t try to fool me. Please tell Priya to come out. I have a gift for her. Please stop this nonsense”.

Then they showed him the original death certificate to him. They gave him this as a proof to make him believe. (Shankar started to sweat) He said.. “It’s not true, we spoke yesterday. She still calls me.” Shankar was shaking with fear by now.. suddenly, Shankar’s phone rang.

“Ai-ya-ya!! See, this is from Priya, see this…it’s her hand phone number” He showed the phone to Priya’s family. All of them told him to answer.

He talked using the loudspeaker mode…..all of them could hear his conversation. Loud and clear…no cross lines, no humming. It is the actual voice of Priya’s & there was no way others could use her SIM card since it is nailed inside the coffin. They were so shocked and asked for Pak Darin’s help again.

Pak Darin brought his master (Tok Chen) to solve this matter. He & Pak Darin worked for 5 hours…then they discovered one thing!!!

Musclés Dé Dansé: Effort D'université

The Musclés Dé Dansé is a new series of posts starting with this post, Effort D'université. The French name can be translated as ‘The Dancing Muscles’ in English that symbolizes the continuous usage of muscles that comes from the Effort D'université, college stress. The whole series will be something like a college diary about college life.

Used to be home by three
Now I never get free
Everyone seems to agree
Student, I’ll be a dead tree

Work keeps coming until I don’t know time
I hardly can make this darned thing rhyme
Ain’t no bell and no chime
Getting killed, I’ll say I’m

Death maths takes away biology
Failure bring in psychology
Plenty more of anthropology
Parents, I’ll owe an apology

Exploration is fun with food
Nothing is better when meals are good
Teachers do change the mood
Patience, I’ll not be rude

Vans aren’t safe with my driver
Bile flows back into my liver
It’ll soon be over
Swing, I’ll get a fever

Memory losing into the red
Showing bright in my grade
Can’t remember to even sit straight
Concentrate, I’ll not be afraid

Failing is never nice
Not a game with a dice
It’s like how we get rice
Mom, Dad, I’ll arise

That is all I have got to introduce in college. Transport, human relations and college grades is a nightmare in college.
